Egan & Golden, LLP Partner Brian T. Egan, Esq. was appointed by the President and Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Bar Association to serve as Chairman of the Professional Ethics & Civility Committee of the County Bar. Mr. Egan was appointed to a two year term. The Committee is charged with interpreting the New York Code of Professional Responsibility and to serve as a resource for practitioners in applying the Code to their practices. As officers of the court, all attorneys are obligated to maintain the highest ethical standards. In furtherance of this obligation, attorneys are guided by a code of conduct, the NY Rules of Professional Conduct, as adopted by the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court. Attorneys who violate the law or fail to abide by this code of conduct are subject to discipline, which may include admonishment, reprimand, censure, suspension or loss of his or her license to practice law. Egan had previously served a two-year term as Chairman of the same committee in 2006-2008.
