Egan & Golden, LLP is pleased to welcome Jessica Soultanian-Braunstein, Esq. as an associate with the Firm. Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein will serve in the Matrimonial and Family Law Practice Groups.
Jessica Soultanian-Braunstein, Esq. received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany, with a major in English and a minor in Education. She earned her Juris Doctor degree cum laude from New York Law School, where she served as a Junior Staff Editor for the New York Law School Law Review, the President of the American Constitution Society, the Secretary of the Federalist Society, and a Mentor with the Street Law Program.
During her tenure at NYLS, Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein worked as a summer associate in the matrimonial and criminal defense practice of Felice J. Muraca before his elevation to the bench of the Nassau County Family Court. She also served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Matthew A. Sciarrino, Jr. of the Kings County Supreme Court. Throughout the school-year, Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein completed internships with the New York City Council and the Office of the New York City Public Advocate under Letitia James. She also worked as a research assistant for Nadine Strossen, who was the first woman and youngest person to serve as the President of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein has served as a Legal Fellow with the Center for New York City. She has written several published articles on legal issues relating to land use and municipal governance in New York City. Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein’s article entitled “Scooters, Hoverboards, and Bicycles; What’s Legal?” continues to be the leading authority on the legal issues surrounding the use of electric bicycles, scooters, and “hoverboards” on public roadways and thoroughfares throughout New York State.
Before joining Egan & Golden, Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein served as a civil prosecutor for the City of New York, where she represented the City in cases involving complex and novel legal issues.
Ms. Soultanian-Braunstein is admitted to the bar of the State of New York and is pending admission to the United States District Courts for the Eastern District and Southern District. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.
